Hi there! Long time no talk! Sorry for being MIA this week. We had quite the crazy week with a blizzard and flying to Australia to see Cooper’s extended family.
Despite the craziness I still managed to get in a few good workouts including Physique 57 Cardio. It’s the regular Physique barre class amped up by 100! It is so so hard! I burned over 600 calories in class and I was so so sore the next day! I kind of thought I was going to die. If you thought barre classes weren’t enough cardio, you have to try this class. It is akin to a spin class!
I also debuted back at AKT in Motion this week. This fancy smancey place is popular with stars like Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelly Ripa. I was so excited to get back to this class, which is a mix of dance cardio and strength. I’m not sure it was wise to do it back to back with Physique Cardio but ah well! The cardio part was really challenging and my legs were still sore from the day before. But it was good to be back.
It’s also great to be back in Sydney! Cooper is visiting his Dad’s side of the family and meeting his aunties for the first time. He’s half Australian and half American but I think he’s settled into the Australian lifestyle pretty well. What do you think?
I was a little nervous taking him on such a long flight for the first time but he did such a great job! He only cried when he was hungry or wet so we kept the screaming to a minimum. He also did a nice big sleep which I am pretty sure everyone (including mum and dad) appreciated. The airline has these great little bassinets that babies can sleep in.
Readers, how was your week? Have you ever taken a break from something and returned to it feeling great? Were you impacted by the blizzard?
Hi FitBritt! I am happy to say that my cardio this week was as follows:
1. Shoveling the front of my garages where the snow plow cannot plow and forms a “wall” -seven or eight times.
2. Sweeping and shoveling my two sets of outside stairs to my porch-one time- and front entry-seven or eight times.
3. Shoveling out the mail truck that became stuck in a snow bank after having delivered my U.S. mail on Thursday, for the first time all week. My mail carrier was so appreciative and even let me use her shovel to dig her out. She expertly gave me instructions on where to best shovel to dislodge her wheels-amazing she could see that from inside her truck.
All in all a fairly good workout!
Wear your sunnies and go to Bondi, or Coogee or out to Palm Beach or Manly. Maybe you could go on some of the costal walk for a work out–take it slowly, tho!!!
No, I was not impacted by the bad weather, though it is rainy and cold here in France. Yuck. In two weeks however I will be in Florida, so only need to tough it out a bit longer. I got to work out 3 days this week, it was enough. The weekend was too busy to squeeze in a forth workout.
Hope you are having a wonderful time with your family ! Can’t wait to hear about your adventures and travel.
I wondered how the flight went with such a little guy – glad he slept a chunk!!! Enjoy your time with your family (in-laws!!).
No blizzard here – actually we had a day that was over 75 last week. Now we have snow and are in the teens!!!
OMG Brittany he is so, so adorable!!!! How can you stand it??? I can’t believe the airline had those cool sleeper bassinet things! That must have made you feel a lot better about the flight.
Enjoy your time and maybe, just maybe, before you move to Brazil we can do that Barre class in NYC together!
he’s sooooo cute! glad to hear the travel went well. i haven’t been to any of those fancy studios, but they look like great workouts to try. i think what i need to take a break from is going out! lol. easier said than done in NYC. it’s sleeting and snowing like crazy here today — be thankful you’re missing it!
You two are such chic parents enjoying a drink on the flight while Cooper napped – love it!! I was actually thinking about how Cooper would do on the long flight when you told me you were headed to Australia… Glad to hear that he’s a great traveler (must take after his parents)!
I love the sound of Physique 57 – sounds like my cup of tea!

February 3, 2015The bassinet was a godsend! We all were able to get some decent sleep and I think it really helped Cooper sleep more deeply. He’s so spoiled! haha.
