Hi all! So I stayed up pretty late Wednesday night to do a few things on my computer, including my TBT post for yesterday, only to realize at about 4pm that I never scheduled it to be published. Derp! Hopefully this post will be up on time!
Welcome to Friday’s Food & Fitness! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I’m excited to meet up with a friend from high school and her kids for a playdate.
Unfortunately I was pretty sick Sunday & Monday this week so my food was a bit weak this week. But, I did receive this awesome package from Kashi, which really brightened my mood!
I love love love Kashi GoLean Cereal (honestly I eat it all the time) and I am totally digging the concept of #TheWorldisMyGym. I’m proud to say I’m a lifetime member, location: anywhere! It’s a great reminder that your gym isn’t an expensive building loaded with equipment, it’s your own backyard, your local playground, the ocean, the woods, the mountains and the rivers. Your gym is right outside your door and it is up to you to find it and use it!
My gym is my paddleboard.
A heart pumping hike.
A fun kayak adventure.
Or a ride through the vineyards.
Also, I’m kind of obsessed with this little cereal to go container they sent me!
Let’s see…
Two pilates classes.
A barbell class (taught by yours truly).
Two barre classes.
Plus, a trip to barre3 in Needham. I was super excited to try out barre3 for the first time when the studio opened in NYC after subscribing to their online classes for quite awhile. When I learned there was a studio a hop, skip and a jump away in Needham, I decided it was a must!
My mom is a pretty big fan of barre3 so we hit the road and enjoyed an AM class.
They have childcare (hallelujah!) so Coops got to come along as our little mascot.
The class was super challenging and a ton of fun.
Their studio is beautiful and in a lovely part of Needham,
The staff was so friendly and very welcoming of us, which I totally appreciate because you never know what to expect when you walk into a studio. While I love amenities like fancy soap, free hair elastics, etc. What really matters is a friendly staff who is genuinely happy you are there to workout with them. I want to feel like I’m meeting my new workout buddies at the studio, not like I have to bring my own!
There are barre3 studios all around the country so definitely check one out near you OR check out their online classes, which I still use and love!
Readers, best workout of the week? Where’s your gym? What do you eat for breakfast?

July 10, 2015Sorry you were not feeling well but it sounds like you’re much better! I was sick for a solid week and it was horrible.
I love that cereal container as I’m a cereal maniac! I never knew such a thing existed.
I’m excited to check out my vacation spot to SUP and hopefully they have a Barre3 studio nearby…
Googling now…

July 13, 2015I hope they do have a barre3 near you. It would be a nice change of pace from running, biking and swimming for you! Let me know if you try!
You will definitely love SUP! I’m sure!

July 10, 2015i wish i could take one of your barre classes! so jealous about the SUP being your gym – i’m dying to try that out. we had scheduled a SUP adventure in Charleston a couple of wknds ago but we got rained out, boo. my best workout of the week was a run on Monday morning with a friend who was in town from Texas, and for breakfast, i usually have coffee and fruit.
