I have a confession to make. Sometimes I lose sight of what I’m doing and why. I get caught up in the day-to-day routine of eating, cooking, working out, caring for the baby, planning, cleaning, organizing, typing, blogging, sharing. I forget to stop and ask myself, why does this matter? I started My Own Balance really for myself as a way to find more balance in my life (read the whole story here). But since then, it has grown into so much more. It’s a place where I can meet other like-minded individuals (hi blogging buddies!), reflect on the things that have happened in my life (hi little guy!) and share with you tips and tricks that I think are useful. But down to the core of my blog, if someone asks me “why do you blog?” , it is really because I want to inspire others. And sometimes between posting workouts and recipes, I lose sight of how to really motivate and inspire other people.
I went back to my Fitness Inspiration board on Pinterest and I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t updated it in at least a year. How can I motivate others if I don’t even care to remember what motivates me!? Well, I took a good hard look at this board (and realized I had pinned some great stuff), added to it and decided to take some excerpts to share with you today. I hope you find these quotes and photos are motivational and inspirational as I do. Feel free to pin them to your own board and check out my other pins.
Be Balanced.
Made by Momentum Jewelry, this wrist wrap reminds me to balance whether it be in my life, my career or on the blog. Balance is important to me. A lot of people don’t think you can achieve balance and I think you can. In my opinion, balance is a fluid concept that you can work towards achieving every day by doing things that make you happy and fulfilled everyday.
Keep pushing for what you want.
Another way of saying never give up in life or in your workout!
Keep Calm and Thigh Dance.
A nod to my barre friends. When all else fails, the only thing you can do it thigh dance!
Think Positively.
I love this for its simplicity and truth.
Dream Believe Achieve.
I love this. It’s so easy to dream but it is much harder to believe you can do something.
I will fly in the face of convention.
This dancer.
I love how muscular she looks.
And this dancer.
Because I want to be that flexible!
Enjoy every moment.
Readers, what quotes or photos motivate you? Why do you do what you do? How can I motivate you more?

October 18, 2015You’re right, it’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and kind of forget your “why” – love all of this motivation! As you know I’m a big believer in balanced living too. I think my whole reasoning for blogging is similar to you: I love leading a healthy, happy, life, and love sharing that with others in the hopes that I’m helping them to be healthier, happier, and more balanced in their lives.

October 19, 2015I think that last one captures what I need to do best – be present and enjoy every moment! As you said you do, I get so caught up in the daily tasks and then what I need to do tomorrow, the day after, the week after, the month after – before you know it, it’s Thanksgiving! I’m really trying to stay present and enjoy every moment. Thank you for the reminder 🙂
