Cooper Turns One

Hello!  So the day has finally arrived…my baby has turned one!  It has honestly gone by so fast.  I know everyone says to you that “kids grow up so fast” and “enjoy this time because it goes so fast” but it really truly does.  The change in just one year is striking and I can’t believe that I no longer have a baby but a toddler!

We spent Cooper’s birthday at the Sydney Aquarium with some friends and his grandparents.  It was so cool to see him looking at the fish and observing what was past the glass.  Just one year ago, he was born and he couldn’t really see anything except for my blurry face and now he sees and is interested in everything!

Not to mention that in the last year, he has learned how to crawl, how to stand and how to recognize his own wants and likes!

For instance, after the aquarium, we took him to this fantastic playground in Darling Harbour and he had the best time playing in the sand and running about the place in all the little water pools!

He has started talking saying things like “bye bye” and waving and “mama” and “dada”.  And the little boy loves to eat!  All the things!

He is so so active and loves climbing and crawling and standing and sliding.  Anything that allows him to go and explore.  I’m going to start calling him “my little explorer.”

Needless to say, his father and I think he is the best thing ever!  Even when he is mischievous, he is still so much fun!

I can’t wait to see what the next year holds!

Happy Birthday my dear Cooper.  You are the light of our lives.
