Nice to Meet You

Hiiii there!  How was your weekend?  Hope yours was fantastic!  We had some fun playing a bit of tennis, eating out a few times, going for a walk in the park and experiencing a Brazilian 1 year old’s birthday (it involved a puppet show, a petting zoo and so so much more!).  I always love fun little surveys on other blogs because I feel like I get to know the blogger so much better.  I read one recently and thought I’d recreate it to answer all your burning questions.

What did you eat for breakfast today?  

Oatmeal.  I eat oatmeal almost everyday although the recipe changes from overnight oats to hot oats and I put on various different types of toppings.  Although recently I made some homemade granola that was ahhhmazing!

How much water do you drink each day?

Not nearly enough.  When I worked at a desk I used to drink all the time.  But now that I’m more on the go, it’s hard to remember to always drink water because I can never remember where I last put my water bottle.  Plus, we can’t drink the tap water here so it makes refilling the water bottle more of a pain and I just often don’t get enough.  I’m really trying to drink more.

What is your current favorite workout?

Pffff.  Is this even a question??  Barre.  Obvi.  I taught a really fun and tough class over the weekend.  Plus, I love my online barre classes.

How many calories do you eat each day?

No clue.  I have never counted calories.

What are your favorite healthy snacks?

Hmmm…good question.  I usually have fruit or natural popcorn that I make on the stove with EVOO or coconut oil.  I actually don’t snack that often anymore.

What do you usually eat for lunch?

Lunch is quite possibly one of my least favorite meals of the day.  I always find it so hard to find inspiration for lunch and I hate spending a lot of time preparing it.  Last week I ate a salad every day in a wrap.  That was delish!

What is your favorite body part to train?

Hmm.  Well, I like to train my arms and my abs because I feel like they need the most work but I think that my legs/booty look the best so I like to train those parts.  Honestly though, I usually do total body workouts.

What is your least favorite body part to train?

My heart!  Cardio has been my nemesis ever since pregnancy/baby.  I stopped doing really intense cardio when I was pregnant and have had a really hard time getting back into high intensity training.  Although, I’m committing to more Turbo Fire in my life right now because I find that fun!

What are your “bad” food cravings?

I don’t usually classify foods as good and bad.  I know a lot of people think pasta is public enemy number one but I personally love pasta.  I don’t usually eat it with a ton of cream and usually go light to non-at all with the cheese so I find that pasta can be really healthy.  

What are some of your favorite treats?

Chocolate!  I usually eat one square for dessert.

Do you take daily vitamins or supplements?

No.  I was taking vitamin D but I get a lot of that these days.  I was also taking a probiotic but I ran out and haven’t worked out whether or not I can get more here or not!

How often do you eat out?

Every Friday is date night and then we usually eat out another 1-2 times more per weekend either with takeout or lunch/brunch.

Do you eat fast food?

No.

Who is your biggest supporter?

The Hubs and my mom!

Do you have a gym membership?

Nope.  The last time I had a gym membership was a looooong time ago.  Maybe 8-10 years?  When we moved to NYC I was way more impressed with the boutique fitness scene.  Even now I alternate between pilates classes and home workouts.

How many hours of sleep do you get each night?

Usually about 8.  The baby has always been a good sleeper but he is so active and mischievous, I feel like I deserve at least that one thing.  He exhausts me during the day!

Do you have a workout buddy?

Nope.  I’m a loner.  Although my mom and I like to workout together and the Hubs and I do sometimes, as well.

Do you have a cheat day?

Not really.  I let myself eat whatever I want when we go out to dinner but I don’t usually end up eating a ton because I find the food here to be really heavy.

Do you drink alcohol?

Yes.

Whats the last healthy thing you did?

Make a salad to go with our pizza.

Weirdest habit?

I like to fold my ears in.  So weird.  I know.

    this was fun to read, Britt — i’m with you on my arms needing the most work, but i love to work my legs/butt/core (planks are my fave ab exercise). i do drink alcohol but mainly just wine (with the occasional cocktail thrown in), i def do not eat fast food, and my biggest supporters are my parents, brother, bff and boyfriend. lots of similarities!

    Love this! I’m a bit of a workout loner too haha although I do like to workout with my hubby or a friend and in a group setting some of the time, other times I just like sweating it out on my own!

      I definitely love group fitness classes but I sometimes feel when I have to meet up with someone to work out, it slows me down. Is that mean??

    What did you eat for breakfast today? –Siggis Dairy yogurt
    What are your favorite healthy snacks? Apple slices with humus.
    What do you usually eat for lunch? Apple slices with humus, cheese, and an orange, mandarin, or grapes.
    What is your favorite body part to train? My abs second only to my other abs!
    What is your least favorite body part to train? My Arm second only to my other arm.
