Hi friends! A new video is live over on my YouTube Channel! This Postnatal Pilates video is aimed at all you new mamas who are starting back at exercise after having your baby. It is also an amazing workout if you are brand new to pilates, have taken an extensive amount of time off from exercise or have undergone any medical procedures and are getting back into exercise.
This workout is aimed at re-strengthening the core and creating a solid base to strengthen the abdominals.
A lot of women have babies and think they need to jump right back into strong core exercises. Crunches, bicycles, hardcore pilates. In fact, this can be counterproductive to your recovery and ultimately re-strengthening the abs. You can actually give yourself a diastisis (a large abdominal separation) by jumping into core work too quickly after having a baby.
This workout is aimed at helping you ease back in. Even if you don’t feel like doing a full workout yet, this quick video is perfect for slowly reintroducing exercise into your routine.
I personally did this postnatal pilates workout when I was recovering after my c-section and I found it super helpful in getting back to my old routines. I’m now 8 months postpartum and the hundred and teasers are back in my repertoire!
Give it a try. I’ll be posting Quick Core Workout 2 soon and you can progress from this workout to that one when you are ready. Don’t forget it is so important to get clearance from your doctor before starting this or any other workout.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
