Booty Kicker Review

Find out my real honest thoughts on the Booty Kicker Portable Barre!

Hey friends! Phew! What a crazy month it has been. I can’t even begin to tell you! It all started with a nasty fall down the stairs, followed by a scheduled ear surgery (I can’t wear earrings anymore!) and now I’m finally getting back on track with my fitness and filming. What a March.

But I’m getting back into it just in time because I am super excited to share with you my experience with the Booty Kicker! This is a brand new portable barre system that I think you are going to love!

I’ve been in this barre business for a long time now and one of my first videos featured a plastic outdoor chair as a barre. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with using a plastic outdoor chair as a barre, it just isn’t sturdiest object. Since then I’ve progressed and used everything from a wall to a banister to a (wooden) chair. I finally made the leap and purchased a portable barre several years back.

Fast forward to today and I’m on my third portable barre and I think I’ve found my happy place.

My biggest complaint with at home barre classes is that they often don’t feel like the real deal because most portable barres cannot withstand your body weight meaning you cannot “pull off” the barre. In a studio barre class where the barre is mounted to the wall, it is sturdy enough to counteract your weight but at home, most of us don’t have that luxury.

Enter the Booty Kicker!

This portable barre is super awesome because of it’s unique design that allows you to use your own body weight to deepen your barre practice and take it to the next level.

The front of the Booty Kicker has a super awesome weight stand where it can hold up to 3 sets of weights (6 weights in all). Not only is this a super efficient way to organize your dumbbells, it also creates the counterweight necessary to allow you to pull off the barre and use it like a wall mounted barre.

Personally, I found using a set of 8lbs, 5lbs and 2-3lbs to work the best in creating a strong, stable base. If you don’t have these weights at home, use whatever you have but obviously the heavier the weights, the more stability you are going to create.

Of course if pulling off the barre isn’t a priority for you (a lot of BBF classes don’t require it!), then you don’t need to worry about the size of your weights and you can choose to use it to hold your lighter 1-2lb weights or you don’t have to use it at all. The nice thing is that the barre itself is super light and easy to move without the weights on it.

The barre also folds down to a collapsed position allowing you to store it out of sight (think in a closet or under the bed!) and it has wheels on the bottom for easy of movement. I found that I could lift mine just fine to store it but the wheels are a nice touch. I love that I can store it away so easily and just get it out when I need it.

One of my favorite parts of the Booty Kicker is the Phone/Tablet attachment. This part is sold separately but I knew I had to have it because it clips right on to the barre and allows you to watch class on your tablet or phone. It even moves as you move! How easy is that!?!

So you must be thinking, this is cool and all but how much is this going to set me back? Well, lucky you the special price is $35 off the original purchase price and it is less than $100, which makes it one of the least expensive and best constructed portable barres I’ve ever encountered. I have easily spent well over $100 on barres way less functional. Claim your special price and get $35 off here!

And if you are looking for Phone/Tablet holder (which I personally think is a great value!), you can get it on Amazon.

Let me know if you’ve tried the Booty Kicker and what you think!

Hey, Brittany, I really like your portable booty kicker that you use like a barre. A great idea! Your Barre Birthday bash certainly must have been fun and fit…ting (no pun intended). Nice photo of you and I think, your sister. Keep up the good work!
